what's next ?

This has been in my thoughts in from 3 years now... what's next.. well I got a job and getting salary.. still what's next ? marriage.. no, not at all.. I postponed it for another 5 years and got an agreement with the parents also... so no issues in that.
next.. become highly technical and get another big job in big guns like google/ms/amazon etc.. ? yes 1 option. Or, continue the tradition of left by my forefathers and fathers i.e weaving Silk Sarees. A strong objection from my family.. don't come to this profession.. we've wasted a life time.. they have advised me like this..
Still I'm thinking about this.. can I do anything special with the sarees making..
Can I make it as a profession and produce high quality Sarees with low workload..
These have been in my thoughts other than my another job...
so confused mind may lead to problems.. I need to fix on one thing and go. well this is it.. will come again.

A Memorable concert: T.N. Seshagopalan

Having heard of this great artist numerous times and of his concerts in hyderabad, I haven't got the chance to attend any of the concerts. SPICMACAY has done a great job having included his program on their yearly program VIRASAT in 2011. A very special thanks to SPICMACAY and I'm also very forunate to attend this program on 14th August 2011.

The program was begun with Sami Ninne Varnam in the raga Sankarabharanam. A very beautiful gem and also the rendering. In the first song only he showed what a mastery he had on the music. Next he sang Shobhillu Saptaswara song. Shri Seshagopalan gaaru explained the meaning of this song in this way. This song was composed by Saint Shri Tyagaraja, in the Raga Jaganmohini. In this Song, Tyagaraja praises the music, the seven notes are divine. A gayathri mantra has 24 syllables, which is formed by 12 notes of music. "Dhara rig saamadulalo gayathri hridayamundunaa". The music notes only are equal to gayathri manthra. So giving tributes to music only equal to rendering Gayathri Manthra.

Next he moved to rendering Raga bhairavi. First he explained the importance of Bhairavi Raga. He sang the song "Kamakshi Amba" by Shri Shyamasasthri. He sang this song in Ragam Tanam Pallavi fashion. The first aalapana of this Raga was mind blowing. The violinist who accompanied him is also mind blowing. He was giving full support to the artist as well as his with spot creations at the time he mesmerized the audience. He maintained complete tempo with vocal artist. There is some importance to 8 charanam's of this song as explained by the singer. By I dont remember it.

Now the main part. Here he wanted to conclude concert first. But he said that while he was singing Bhairavi raga, he got in mind that why should he sing Sindhu Bhairavi also and to explain the difference. Thus resulted in another beautiful Jugalbandi of two Ragas, Bhairavi and Sindhu Bhairavi. He chose the song "Kapalini trisulini ezhil sindumbhairavi". Woww.. I can say. The way of his singing, showing difference between these two great Ragams, another WOWW.

The concert was concluded with Thillana composed by himself only. In the concert he said about his guru and Parama guru Muthaiah Hhagavatar gaaru. The hall is sounded with claps from the audience. Though he is Sangeetha Kalanidhi, a prestigious award given to Carnatic Musician, he is very simple, and a great musician. He explained about the raaga that he is singing and meaning of the each song that was sung, the also importance of each song.. Real music education, singing the songs in different Ragas which are having very small difference. Genius.

Once again thank you so much SPICMACAY.

Kalpagur vilage, Sangareddy, Medak district

Thanks to Lakshmi Garu for introducing this beautiful through her blog http://4psmlakshmi.blogspot.com/2008/08/blog-post_1682.html .

After reading this, I thought of going and visit this village many times. It was made possible on one sunday when my school friend accepted to come. We took a Honda CBZ from another friend and started our journey from Lingampally, BHEL circle. We stopped at Kandi village to have breakfast and visited Panduranga Swami temple which was in Kandi Village. This is village where IIT, Hyderabad resides. After breakfast we directly headed to Kalpagur village. This is a scenic village, on the banks of river Manjeera, a tributary of River Godavari. A village environment everywhere and and 4-5 temples in the village. All temples are very ancient and dates back to Kakatiya Period. And some of them or Someswara Temple, Kasi Visweswara Temple. Kasi Visweswara Temple is the main temple of the village. It was built by Kakatiya Rulers in 13th century. This temple is housing 3 deities namely Shiva, Vishnu and some other god. Basically it is called Trikuta Temple, just like Thousand Pillar temple which is in Warangal. All pillars of temple are highly ornate and temple was build using big cut rocks. A pleasant environment exists in the temple and we are offered to remove our shirts before entering the main temple by the priest over there. A nandi at the starting of the temple is very nice. Architecture of the temple is very nice.

Near to this temple, there is Barrage on the river Manjeera. From this place only we'll get water to whole Hyderabad city. There is water purification center and there is also a crocodile breeding center. Officials told us that there are around 600 crocodiles are living in the river and surroundings. They've made a fence at river boarders to prevent the crocodiles entering the nearby villages. This barrage is also a  scenic place. A lot of birds, lizards and plants.. wow.. a summer natural picnic spot. And here are the photos.

This place is very near to Hyderabad. 30 kms from From Serilingampally. To reach there, Serilingampally->Patancheru->Sangareddy->kalpagur. Rainy seasons bike journey will be superb or Winter morning seasons or summer evening times.
